Pug Partners of Nebraska was formed in December 2008. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to helping pugs in need. We help pugs that have been owner surrendered, from puppy-mills and also from rescue friendly shelters. Our main mission is to find each pug a new home that they will feel loved in and secure with.
We are a group of dedicated volunteers that spend countless hours each week trying to save every pug that we can. All of our funds go directly to the pugs we do not have any paid staff. A majority of the pugs that we receive into the rescue have never been to a vet and require a lot of training work before they are adoptable.
We never turn down a pug. We take in pugs regardless of their age, color, or health issues. Our goal is to save every pug that we can! Pug mixes are considered on an individual basis. We do not have a shelter for our pugs, instead they are kept in loving foster homes until we find the perfect home for them. Someday we hope to be able to build a Pug Sanctuary.
What exactly is Pug Rescue??
Due to the overbreeding of this wonderful breed, mostly by puppy mills and backyard breeders, many Pugs have been abandoned or surrendered to shelters and rescue groups. Owners often don't want to bother with their puppy once it has grown up, or can't handle the Pup puppies' antics. Across the U.S., and in many other parts of the world, the problem of unwanted Pugs has grown, and unfortunately will continue to grow as the Pug's popularity soars. Rescue organizations rehabilitate and rehome abandoned Pugs of all ages. Most often these Pugs are owner surrenders. All Pugs are spayed/neutered and all vet work is done before adoption.
