Ava is the perfect addition to most homes. She loves lying on the couch with her people but also loves to play with her dog friends and independently. She plays tug with the 70 lb Aussie in her foster home but sleeps directly on top of the 15 lb pug in her foster home. She hasn’t met a dog she doesn’t like, though she does lack boundaries and would appreciate a patient dog friend who doesn’t mind that.
Ava loves all the toys, but especially small stuffies, small bones, and ropes with which to play tug. She is still learning what is and is not a toy. Cords should be kept out of her reach as she finds them intriguing.
Ava would do well with an adopter who is home much of the time as she does not love her crate, and she does love people. She is crate-trained, but if she can hear you then she will yell about being in it. She is a champ at pottying outside and has mastered the stairs despite her small stature, but she will still pee inside if left out and not taken out frequently.
Ava’s ideal home has at least one human who’s home a lot and one dog. She would do well with pet-savvy children, but sudden movements can still sometimes startle her. Ava has not met a stranger when it comes to other dogs and warms up to humans quickly. She wants to play, play, play, and also cuddle, cuddle, cuddle. She has the perfect amount of energy for almost any home because she can do it all!
Ava is healthy, absolutely gorgeous, soft, and sweet as can be. If you’re looking for a playful, cuddly lower-end-of-medium energy friend, Ava is going to be perfect for you.
