About Lincoln: From day one, he found his spot on the bed, learned the routines, and appointed himself an honorary member of the pack. He now lives alongside other dogs and has fully embraced his role as a protector, play partner, and general couch authority figure. Lincoln arrived in foster care and settled in like he’d always lived there.
He’s a velcro pug through and through. Lincoln wants to be wherever you are — curled under the covers, tucked in beside you at bedtime, or draped across a lap on the couch. His signature move? Burrowing under a freshly made bed and sleeping under the covers. He takes napping very seriously.
When the mood strikes, Lincoln is a playful guy. He loves small squeaker balls (pug-sized, not big ones), chasing birds and squirrels in the yard, and a good round of play-fighting with his people. He’ll also grab the leash in his mouth on walks, because he just wants to help. He walks beautifully on leash otherwise, it’s just that he just likes to feel involved!
Fair warning: Lincoln has strong FOMO. If the kids are roughhousing or having a pretend sword fight, he’ll bark — not out of aggression, but because he desperately wants in on whatever is happening. He’s also a runner. Given an open front door or an unguarded gate, he will take his shot. He doesn’t need a fenced yard, but his family needs to be thoughtful about exits.
He can get a little anxious in the moment when someone leaves. He’ll bark as you head out the door, but once you’re gone, he settles in just fine, especially with another dog or a person at home. He does best with company.
Lincoln came to Pug Partners originally in 2021 for knee surgery, made a full recovery, and was adopted for several years before his family had to move internationally. He’s been well loved. He lost 10 pounds in foster care from proper portioning and regular activity, He’s now at a healthy weight and has the energy of a dog half his age. He takes joint supplements to support his knee long-term, gets regular medicated baths for seasonal skin allergies, and is fully medically cleared.
Lincoln’s ideal home: A family with at least one other dog, kids who want a snuggle buddy and adventure companion, and people who will absolutely let him sleep in the bed. That last one is non-negotiable — he has opinions about this!
If you want a loyal, funny, opinionated little guy who will follow you from room to room, steal your blanket, and bark supportively at everything you do — Lincoln is your pug.
