Pugs are notorious for food allergies to wheat and corn. Pug Partners is fortunate to have pet food nutrition experts on our board of directors and will often select a special diet for pugs with severe allergy or health issues. Many of the dogs we see in rescue have had poor diets and are suffering from food related issues, and we can tell when a pug has been fed a low quality dog food.
As a result, we require that our foster and adopted pugs dogs be fed quality food that is wheat, soy, corn and bi-product free.
If you are a foster and do not see a food on this list, please contact Pug Partners, with the name of the food and we will let you know if it is or is not approved and why. We also suggest checking out www.dogfoodadvisor.com for an unbiased pet food review.
